The Training section primarily focuses on supporting, coordinating and facilitating training and exercise opportunities with quality educational programs and instructors; including realistic, adaptive and competency-based training and comprehensive exercise development and support.

Mission

Build capability through training and exercises based on National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) fundamentals.

Vision

West Virginia stakeholders have the appropriate skills and knowledge to properly respond to any all-hazards event.

  • Depending upon current COVID-19 guidance, classes may be held virtually or postponed.

Training Requirements

Local jurisdiction emergency management agencies who receive funding via the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) are required to complete the prescribed training and exercise criteria in order to remain eligible for grant funding.​
