Rail Car Incident Response for Crude, Ethanol & Other Flammable Liquids

​The All Hazards Training Center at The University of Findlay has developed the Rail Car Incident Response for Crude, Ethanol, and Other Flammable Liquids training course approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (DOT PHMSA) to educate emergency responders on freight rail car incidents involving hazardous materials, specifically crude oil, ethanol, and other flammable liquids.

ICS Train the Trainer/L-449
Date & Time: April 29 to May 3, 2024​, 8AM-5PM daily
Location: Public Service Training, 501 22nd Street, Dunbar, WV 25064
​Registration:  All prerequisite certificates must be emailed to Brent Burger, WV EMD Training Officer by Friday February 16, 2024, at 4:30pm. Class limit is twenty-five (25) students and seats will be given upon receipt of all prerequisites emailed to Brent Burger at brent.a.burger@wv.gov

Course Description: This course expands and improves students' ability to deliver National Incident Management System (NIMS) curricula. Students are provided training on the delivery of:

  • ICS-100: Introduction to the ICS
  • ICS-200: Basic ICS for Initial Response
  • ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents
  • ICS-400: Advanced ICS for Complex Incidents
  • G0402: NIMS Overview for Executives and Senior Officials 
  • E/L/G0191: EOC/ICS Interface
​Emphasis is placed on classroom-based deliveries. This includes compliance with the NIMS Training Program, adult education methodologies, deployment of course activities, pre- and post-testing, and ICS training program management.

Description: This 3-day course is designed for those emergency response personnel who would function in a Command or General Staff position during a large, complex incident or event, or personnel who are or would likely be part of a local or regional Incident Management Team during a major incident, whether single agency, multiagency, or Unified Command. Training scenario will be agriculture-based.
